“Best mom response ever.”
Mason Barclay wanted to spend the night at his friend Houston’s house with a few other female friends, but upon realizing her parents have a no opposite-sex rule Barclay knew a sleepover would be a long shot.
Still, the teen, who identifies as gay, figured he had nothing to lose by making a case for himself, so he texted Houston’s mom to ask permission to join in on the fun.
Introducing himself as one of “Houston’s new best friends” Mason asked, “If she had people over on Friday, would I, a very homosexual male, be able to take part in the sleepover?”

“I think the common meaning behind only allowing the same-sex to share sleepovers is due to the typical interest in the opposite sex, when in this case, I do not like the opposite sex,” he argued in the text, before signing off with a very respectful “Thank you for your time and consideration.”
Much to Mason’s surprise, Houston’s mom didn’t take issue with him spending the night and even had a humorous reply at the ready. “Hmm,” she shot back. “Well, my husband is hot. Should I worry?”
Mason tweeted a photo of the exchange on September 18, and Twitter users are loving it. “I think I’m in love with her mom,” wrote one.
Another person claimed the conversation caused him to choke on his coffee because he was laughing so hard. “Best mom response ever,” he said.
We couldn’t agree more!
