Rethink, a Canadian creative agency created the only LGBT Flag that can stop bullets. It’s made out of 193 flags, one for each country in the UN – showing that if we all stand against homophobic and transphobic violence, we can stop it once and for all. AMEN!!!
This 193-layer LGBT flag created for
the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia can stop bullets
For it’s 15th edition, The International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia created a powerful contraption: an LGBT flag made out of 193 Pride Flags – enough to stop a bullet. Showing that all together, we can stop violence.
A real-life ballistic installation was crafted to put this notion of togetherness to the test. It’s launched as the promotional video for May 17th.
“The condition of lesbian, gay, bi and trans people tends to better around the world but there’s still a lot of work to do to guarantee fundamental human rights to everyone. LGBT individuals are still the victims of physical and psychological violence and we want everyone to know that they can make a difference”
-Francis Viau, spokesperson, Émergence Foundation
Following May 17th, The Pride Shield will be exposed in public spaces to spark discussions. LGBT organizations from anywhere will be able to order the installation on prideshield.com, a dedicated campaign website with testimonies from LGBT activists.
The Émergence Fondation is a non-profit that fights homophobia and transphobia and advocates for the inclusion of LGBTQ+ individuals in society with gatherings, projects and awareness initiatives like the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, launched in 2003.
