A man from Minnesota has been charged with forcing upon the twin daughters of his girlfriend and infecting them with an STD.
The man’s name is Arturo Macarro Gutierrez, and he’s 36-years-old. He was found hiding at his home when the police arrested him, and he was arrested one year after the crime took place after one of the girls complained to a relative about the assault.
It has been reported by Fox News that the girl had told her grandmother about being “hurt by her daddy”, and the grandmother was shocked to find out what the girl was saying, but she took her to a hospital immediately and the girl tested positive for gonorrhea.
An arrest warrant was issued immediately after, and a SWAT team reached Gutierrez’s house. He denied he had done anything wrong while being arrested, and he also refused to accept the charges of forcing upon a child. However, he was soon subjected to a medical test, and he tested positive for gonorrhea. It was found later that the girl’s twin sister was also a victim of Gutierrez, and she also tested positive with the same STD.
Gutierrez was convicted of four counts of criminal sexual conduct, including two in the first degree, and two in the second degree, as reported by Pioneer Press.
The Ramsey County Attorney John Choi said in a statement that cases involving sexual assault of young children pose significant barriers, as they’re too young to understand and describe the acts and are susceptible to intimidation and manipulation by the offender.
Gutierrez is set to be sentenced on April 1 this year, and the Assistant Ramsey County Attorney Dawn R Bakst said that they’re looking at trying to put him in prison for a longer period of time under state sentencing guidelines.
Both victims were just 4 years old at the time of the assault.
