The musician, songwriter, and producer Mark Ronson appeared on Good Morning Britain yesterday to discuss his new album called Late Night Feelings. However, he got involved in another interesting topic in the backstage earlier that morning, and presenter Kate Garroway mentioned it on camera.
She explained to fellow host Ben Shephard that Mark had become “very involved” in a debate backstage about sapiosexuality.
When Garroway asked him if he identifies as a man who likes intellect now that he’s single, Ronson replied that he does, even though he didn’t know there was a word for it.
He also noted that he really enjoyed that segment, and they were all arguing backstage in the dressing room with a couple of producers. He then said that he feels like he’s identifying as sapiosexual.
Shephard added that Ronson is coming out as sapiosexual, out and proud on Good Morning Britain.
Author Nichi Hodgson had been previously on the show to explain what sapiosexuality meant.
She said that the definition means intelligence first then attraction. She added that she dates men and women and identifies as bisexual, but she realized that the thing that linked all people that she has dated has been their brains.
A certain percentage of the population is sapiosexual, and it has always existed, even though we didn’t have a word for it.
Ronson was previously married to French actor and singer Joséphine de La Baume and he was also engaged to actor Rashida Jones.
