Teachers Respond To Florida’s ‘Don’t Say Gay’ Bill In a Clever And Sarcastic Way

Florida recently passed a rather ridiculous bill, infamously called the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill. The Parental Rights in Education bill CS/CS/HB 1557 will come into force on July 1st, 2022, aims to enforce a parental fundamental right to make decisions on the upbringing of their children in public schools. So far, so good, right? Wrong.

The bill also forbids any classroom instructions on gender identity which is not developmentally or age-appropriate to the kids. So, following the passing of the new bill, a letter started circulating that maliciously complies with the rule:

But what Moms of Liberty don’t understand is that heterosexuality is also a sexual orientation.

The wording of the bill is so vague that it could be used to justify any LGBTQ+ talk in schools, which is why it’s called the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill.
Expectedly, this prompted a number of reactions, including the template letter to be distributed by teachers in protest of the bill.

So, in response to the bill, the teacher that ‘wrote’ this letter has decided to abstain from using any gendered pronouns that signify gender.
