Most states have sounded the alarms about the lack of personal protective equipment and ventilating machines in their hospitals as the U.S. has become the new epicenter of the Covid-19 pandemic. The President, however, has decided to “threaten” some states that he won’t help them because they don’t “appreciate” him.

Trump referred to Michigan’s governor Gretchen Whitmer as “the woman in Michigan”, and he said during a press conference that he instructed Vice President Mike Pence to now call Whitmer or the Washington governor Jay Inslee because both of these states haven’t been “appreciative” enough of Trump’s coronavirus efforts so far.

Trump said that he told Mike not to call the governor in Washington and the woman in Michigan because “he’s wasting his time with them”, and “if they don’t treat him right, he shouldn’t call”.

The state of Michigan has more than 4,300 cases as of this morning, and 189 people have lost their lives. According to Surgeon General Jerome Adams, next week will be even worse.
Trump, though, continued his rant, and explained that governors that criticize him and his administration’s response should somehow be punished because it’s unpatriotic. He said that when they’re not appreciative of him, they’re not appreciative of the Army Corps, and they’re not appreciative of FEMA.

Trump also said during an interview with Fox New’s Sean Hannity that the Michigan governor is “not stepping up”, and he said that he doesn’t know if she knows what’s going on, “but all she does is sit there and blame the federal government”.

Whitmer wrote in response on Twitter that “her name is Gretchen Whitmer, and she’s asked repeatedly and respectfully for help, because they need it.

“No more political attacks, just PPEs, ventilators, N95 masks, test kits. You said you stand with Michigan — prove it.” – she wrote.

To add to that, Whitmer wrote on Twitter that right now, we all need to be focused on fighting the virus, and not each other.
